Gandhi & Sons Era: Pre-partition

The Gandhi Group first came into existence with the registration of the company “Gandhi & Sons” in the year 1942 in Lahore which was then a part of pre-partitioned India.

The founder of the Company Hon. Joginder Singh Gandhi, a pioneer in the field, first started with the trading of cosmetic products under this name.

Even in this era, Mr. Joginder Singh Gandhi being the visionary that he was, first ventured into manufacturing by pioneering the conical “Kajal Sticks” which are now both, a staple and peculiarity specific to the Indian cosmetic industry.
After the Partition of India, Mr. Gandhi, forced to leave his home and worldly possessions behind, moved to Various parts of current India, eventually settling in “Bombay” being the commercial capital of the country.



Gandhi & Sons Era: Post-partition:

Undeterred by previous losses, Gandhi & Sons continued to function as a successful company in the cosmetics industry from its new location in Bombay.

In 1975, Mr. Ajit Singh Gandhi, son of Mr. Joginder Sigh Gandhi joined the family business and took the reins to move the company forward into a new era.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Mr. Ajit Singh Gandhi pioneered formulations for many cosmetic products such as Kajal, Mascaras, eye-liners etc.

Not the least of his achievements was to start the manufacturing of perfumes along with cosmetics moving the company down the path he envisioned for the future.


Edna International Era:

Having gained much experience and success in the manufacture of perfumes as well as cosmetics, Mr. Ajit Singh Gandhi , registered the company “Edna International” In 1990, after 25 years in the field. This ushered in an era of booming business and overall growth.

The year 2002 brought with it the introduction of a new emerging leader in the company. Mr. Punit Singh Gandhi, firstborn son of Mr. Ajit Singh Gandhi.

Gifted with a natural talent for fragrances and flavors, it was only fitting that he join with his father to take the company forward into the new millennium.


Grace Era:

Eager to grow the business, Mr. Punit Singh Gandhi, with the support of Mr. Ajit Singh Gandhi, started a new firm geared towards manufacturing of the highest quality perfumes and cosmetic products that can compete in the international market.
And thus, Grace Universal was established in 2003. With its chief manufacturing facilities located in Daman, Grace quickly gained a solid reputation in the international market as a reliable and noteworthy supplier and manufacturer of perfumery products.
In 2010, Mr. Sohaill Gandhi, the youngest son of Mr. AJit Singh Gandhi and brother to Mr. Punit Singh Gandhi joined the family business. With the introduction of this latest member, the company seems poised for another period of exponential growth.

Since its establishment, Grace Universal has grown many-fold and continues to grow annually. Through our dedication to delivering quality products to our customers every time, and our novel “concept-to-shelf” abilities, along with our ideologies of trust, integrity and family values, we hope to continue to help our customers achieve their goals and to achieve growth with stability.
